"Jen Edwards’ private instruction is clear and inspirational. After private lessons with Jen, my daughter was awarded the most improved offensive player on her team and made her High School Varsity Team. My daughter has found a mentor and an exceptional batting and fielding technician!" - Susan B.
"My 14 year old daughter could immediately apply the lesson and it helped right away. She went from a batting average of .000 for her first 3 games to a batting average of .1000 (3 out of 3) for the next game after this lesson. She said it helped right away. Jen knew to address her confidence level as much as her physical swing." - Sara W.
"Jen is awesome! When my 8 year old daughter moved up from machine pitch to kid pitch, at one of her first practices she took a ball to her head and got a concussion. Jen was instrumental in easing her back into the game, making her confident and comfortable - and she has since made a travel team! Looking forward to many more lessons with Jen so my daughter can continue to strive and play the game she loves!" -- Barbara C.
"My daughter is a junior and is vieing for a spot on the varsity squad. She was also getting ready for travel team tryouts. One of the things we knew she had to work on was hitting. After one hour with Jen her swing dramatically improved. We came back in a few times to practice what we learned (putting things in muscle memory) and my daughter went off to her tryouts. She made the cut on both teams she tried out for, and had her pick of teams. I watched the one hour session from a chair behind home plate so that I could help my daughter as she practiced. Little did I realize that I was being schooled too. My own swing improved and I am making contact like never before. Learning from osmosis I suppose. Two for the price of one." - Dave F.
I was lucky enough to play on Coach Jen's travel softball team for a few years. She is exceptionally dedicated to her team both on and off the field. She really helped me to focus on the ball, be ready for the next play, support our teammates, and get fired up! Her coaching style and enthusiasm made me a better softball player both mentally and physically. She worked with each of us individually to improve and correct any bad habits, and as a whole team to work together. I improved my batting technique (hands through first!), became more ready and focused as a fielder, learned how to play "small ball", got the perfect leadoff, got the perfect dive under the tag (and had lots of fun practicing), and learned how to left-hand slap to get on base. Because of Coach Jen's confidence in me and in our team, my confidence in myself and my abilities increased, which translated to a better softball team.
I had a lot of fun with our team and have great memories from those times. Even though I'm not a professional softball player (I ended up an engineer), I still use many of the fundamental life skills that Coach Jen taught and reinforced. And on the occasions when I play recreation softball, I still step up to bat, take a deep breath, believe and focus, and put some runs on the board. -Krystyna
"Coach Jen used helpful drills, visualization and positive reinforcement to improve my daughters' batting skills. I noticed both girls got more consistent and Emma started applying the things she learned like looking where holes were before she got up to bat and telling herself where she wanted to hit it. I definitely would recommend Coach Jen's services for any girl looking to improve her softball skills. Especially since Jen played in college and she can share her experience with the girls; it's nice to have a women's point of view since there are so many male coaches in fastpitch softball." -Miriam M.
"We are so appreciative of the time you took to tweak the skills our daughter needed for softball tryouts. She was able to improve her swing and had a much better throwing arm. What amazed us is it did not take you more than a few minutes to observe her movements to figure out what needed tweaking, We look forward to working with you in the coming season." - Michelle S.
"I played softball for coach Jen Edwards for two years around 2003 at Montgomery College. Our team only had a handful of players who knew the game but that wasn't going to stop Jen. Her love and knowledge of the game made monumental improvements within two weeks. In high school I caught and played the outfield but considered myself a utility player able to play anywhere except on the mound. Well that wasn't acceptable to coach Jen. I knew pitching mechanics, she had faith and we needed a change of pace against Anne Arundel Community College. So with a few pointers, one batter before we took the field, I got my college debut as a pitcher. Other coaches that I 've seen come trhough programs would try and change everything about a player. Coach Jen didn't try to change everything about a batter or fielder but tweaked some things making sure not to completely change what's already comfortable. The drills we did are still relevant in the game, so much so that I have been using them with my high school teams for about six years now. (I'm a coach now too) Oh and Jen doesn't just talk the talk she's a freaking beast on a diamond! When I started my coed softball team I called her right away knowing she couldn't resist and she's going to help us to #1. - Candice C.
GOOD PLAYERS INSPIRE THEMSELVES GREAT PLAYERS INSPIRE OTHERS!"
"My daughter and I met Coach Jen through her 16UB travel softball team. The 16UB coach would often ask Coach Jen to organize and lead college level practices which consisted of both hitting and fielding. Coach Jen’s methodology of teaching the fundamentals along with the mental aspect of softball helped my daughter significantly improve her game. Since Coach Jen is a former college softball player and presently plays on an adult softball team, her knowledge of the game is endless. My daughter looks forward to another great year of learning and working with Coach Jen." -Sabra J.
"Executing the short game successfully takes patience and hard work. Over the two years I spent working with Coach Edwards, I was able to pick up the essential skills needed in order to execute the short game with confidence and success. Not only did her expertise help me in improving my short game during my college years, but it carries on today as I coach young ladies the same skills and drills I once learned from her. I am a firm believer that I am the coach I am today thanks to the individuals who helped me throughout my softball career- Coach Edwards surely makes the top of my list." - Cari Huffman, Montgomery College Softball 2003-2005
